In order to receive my friend's inbound calls and support our community,i told my friend to call me using my sip number, he chose to use voipdiscount to call me.
But now the problem is he can't reach me by dialing my sip number, his voipdiscount keeps telling him the number which he input is invalid.
Can someone do me the favor to tell me what to do then?
Your reply will be fully appreciated!

The voipuser "free" numbers usually (but not always) can only be called from within the UK. It will not help your free calls credit with voipuser, but why not call directly using voip.

Using voip with a sip client like zoiper or X-Lite you can be called using your sip address carbin @sip.voipuser.org with no charge.

unfortunately such things do not work in real world

as others I'm quite disappointed that 'you' (voipuser) chose 844 numbers which are NOT reachable from abroad and from other used viop/paid/webbased operators

this is quite amusing that there are existing phone numbers which are restricted only to UK regular phone line users

it seems that the same is with 'international' iNUM 883 - which remains as for now only an idea, not a practical phone number - and this is quite a pity

Yes, it's not perfect and we accept that. If you need a commercially supported service then you will need to choose an alternative to us.

We do our best, but it's on a limited budget.

The 0844 numbers were the only option - there wasn't actually a choice there. They work great for the majority of our users but unfortunately there are edge cases depending on your country of origin.

I think you can call the +883 world numbers from Voipstunt and possibly Voipdiscount. They may be able to call you by using your SIP address user [!at] sip.voipuser.org (replace the [!at] with a @) from another voip provider or possibly directly to your ATA if you have one user@IPaddress.

There was a problem with the 0844910 number series but that has now been coreected. If you call an 0844 number from outside the UK using PSTN you need to dial the full international code eg
0044844...... or 01144844... may or may not be supported depending on the country that you call from. You would do the same calling from voipdiscount.

The numbers that Voipuser provides are premium numbers and the incoming call pays for the outgoing forwarding of the call to PSTN. This is explained on the website. You can buy local UK numbers and forward them to Voipuser if you wish. You can get free US numbers from IPKall and forward them to voipuser (voip call cost may be the same).
