On mobiles you can dial *# and numbers and send them off to the network to get back your credit and things like that. Is there anything interesting you can do on a SIP phone to query & reply stuff?

One thing for instance would be account status, so *#222# or whatever would bring back a +10 or -2 or whatever your SIP account status is.

Obviously this depends very much on the client used to connect to the network, but if my phone can say "PSTN access denied" when I try and dial, is it not possible to feed it more info like that?

Just thinking aloud. Smile

Cheers

Daniel

All great ideas Daniel ! Not a programmer by any chance are you? Voipuser has always been keen on providing resources for test and experiment the problem is often the time and therefore cost involved with writing scripts for a non commercial entity.

So lets just say, if anyone has any ideas for applications or scripts that they would like to setup and test in conjunction with Voipuser then please get in touch with one of the Admin Team.

Actually, yes, but not by trade... Smile

I'd offer to muck in and do it but I haven't got a clue where I'd start to be honest, but this just means I've gotta put an asterisk system in my house and get cracking...
